Sophie - adopted by MaryLu Holcomb

Sophie came direct from a puppymill to me. She is a Bichon/Cocker or Bichon/Lhasa mix with the softest, silkiest hair ever. I got Sophie when she was 8 weeks old, and she was so different from Phoebe - she was so frightened she didn't even want to get out of her crate at the airport. Sophie will be a year old in August and is very, very sweet, but I don't think she will ever trust the way Phoebe does - I don't think she was mistreated but maybe the fear from the Mama dog rubbed off on her. She is very gentle and loving and she has so many sweet traits about her and really wants to please. She has had a very rough time physically as she had ringworm and sarcoptic mange when I got her and then demodectic mange and now she has a fungus on her nose - she is the best known dog at our vets, they are thinking of naming one of the rooms after her. My vet said she has been the greatest challenge of his career and he will feel very rewarded once he gets her completely cleared up. I will feel it is a miracle if we ever go more than 2 weeks without being in his office. I have never regretted getting Sophie for one minute. Watching her come out of her shell is really rewarding. She still barks at strangers and will not let them get near her but she has gotten friendlier with others in the family and will let Dad & I do just about anything with her including the dreaded ear drops.

Hoover - adopted by MaryLu Holcomb

Hoover was an OTI due to illiness in the family. He is a Yorkiepoo who turned 1 in May of this year. Hoover is my littliest @ 6# but he has no idea of that fac, he is a big dog in a little body! He is very loving and likes nothing better than chasing birds & being held. He loves to be held like a baby & makes sweet little cooing sounds when being petted. He gets along just great with Phoebe, Sophie and plays and runs till he actually just flops in the grass, exhausted. He is so little, with such short little legs, but he can get up on anything. When he jumps up to get on my bed it looks like he is soaring and getting ready to fly. I had no intentions of getting a third pup but when he came into my life I fell in love with him immediately. There was no question that he would be staying.
